-Author's Opening Notes- I can't stress enough that I was 14 when I made this. I was a huge Nintendo fanboy, a member of Nintendo's Nsider Forum, and completely and utterly clueless on how to make comics. Despite this, this sprite comic helped make the first two years I made them the best of my life. Some may say sprite comics aren't an art, and that they do no justice to drawn works. To that, I definitely agree. Quite frankly, if you really want to make a comic, I would suggest drawing it, even if you're not good at it. In time, and with practice in the form of your comic, you can, and will, improve. As to how this series became popular, I can only attest it to the fanbase of Nsider. No offense to my old friends, but Nsider's userbase as a whole was fairly easy to please, so a "good" sprite comic was fairly easy to make in their eyes. Having guest stars was also probably a huge part of it, since anyone will like something when they're in it. Perhaps the insane plotline also had something to do with it. Sure, they were utterly confused and I had to keep letting them know what happened, but for some reason they still enjoyed it. So to my fanbase that made this possible, thanks for not having high expectations. With that out of the way, you may wonder what I have cooking up now, two years after the end of the comic. Well of course, I've gone into art, and of course, I'm developing an original drawn comic called "Wrong, Right and Left" to be hosted on ComicDish. I should hope it will utterly obliterate this series in every department. -!History!- !SCREWED! Comics (Super Mario Crew: Luigi's Denial) began on May 3rd, 2005, as a forum based comic exclusive to Nintendo's Nsider Forum. The comic was originally created using MSPaint, but in time he got a hold of Photoshop Elements 4.0, which he used to add effects in later pages. The topic that hosted the comic was eventually deleted off the Mario board on October 1st, 2005 as a result of a new rule for the board enacted by MOD_Mario and the topic was re-made in the Power On board. There it remained until April 21st, 2007, when the topic was inexplicably deleted again. After a week or so of investigation, he learned that it was NOA_Matt that deleted the thread because it "generated complaints." No actual reason was given, but MarioMK1 concluded it was the name, which was meant to signify the craziness that happens in his comic, but could be mistaken for innuendo. He then went through all the comics, deleting every last remnant of the previous name, and changed it to Mushroom Kingdom 1NSANITY. Through the life of the comic, it became known for it's massive cast, sporting nearly 30 major characters and more than a hundred guest stars by comic's end. The comic was also known for having a plot twist in nearly every comic. Midpoint in the comic, he began to get lazy, and huge delays in comic updates would follow. Soon they lengthened to months without a comic. Overuse of Photoshop effects also became a staple of the series. The comic ended on May 30th 2008, giving it a three year run. The comic itself is riddled with plot holes, poor typos, and sub-par writing, and many of the plot holes were never filled. The comic ended with a half-text comic due to laziness on the author's end. While the comic wasn't of very high quality, it did have a fair amount of success, gathering more than a hundred fans over it's three year, 45 comic run. -!SmackJeeves Edition!- Some noticeable differences between the SmackJeeves version and the previous forum versions of Mushroom Kingdom 1SANITY will probably be noticeable. First and foremost, some of the comics have been changed to JPG to accommodate the file size restrictions, so you may notice a little dip in picture quality. Also due to the restrictions, some comics have been broken into parts. The dates given to each comic are all guesses at when they might have updated, so don't expect them to be full on true to time. The comic is here for one reason: Archiving it. While I'm not nearly as proud as I once was of the series (for good reason) I have gotten some demand for an easy to find site where they can read these. I've been meaning to compile them outside a forum for a while now, so now that it is done, anyone who remembers the series, or wants to make fun of it, can find it. It is here for the amusement of the interwebs, at it's expense or otherwise.
